Gerald S. Hymanson is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and New York. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate and Tax Planning, and Estate and Trust Settlement. Throughout the years, Jerry has assisted numerous clients in eliminating or minimizing Estate and Inheritance Taxes which otherwise could have been paid to either the federal or state governments.
Jerry graduated Emory University Law School in 1989 with a concentration in Tax and Estates. Jerry also recieved his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Emory University in 1986. After spending several years in the tax department of the international accounting form of Deloitte & Touche, Jerry established his own law firm in 1991. Jerry has been assisting clients of various wealth with their Estate and Tax Planning needs by utilizing tax elimination and minimization techniques to provide greater wealth transfer to heirs and loved ones. Jerry has also successfully represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the State of New Jersey with regard to reviews and audits of Estate Tax, Gift Tax and Inheritance Tax issues.
In both New York and New Jersey, Jerry has guided clients through the complicated probate process and has prepared the necessary Estate and Inheritance Tax Returns to secure the proper documentation from federal and state taxing authorities to assure a proper transfer of assets and sale of real estate.
Jerry has also developed Estate planning techniques, which have included the use of Trusts and other Estate Planning Tools for clients who desire to avoid probate. Jerry has served on the legal counsel of the Estate Plan, a national company, which specializes in providing the necessary documents for a client's complete Estate planning needs.
Jerry has and will continue to work with clients to create an Estate and Tax Plan which fits the needs of the particular indiviual, including powers of attorney and health care directives, in order to avoid unnecessary taxes, court proceedings and expense.
